Welcome To Bethel
We are so glad that you are visiting here with us today! Here is our hope and prayer for you…that you will find Bethel to be a loving group of people who, though very imperfect, are seeking to love the Lord their God with all their heart.
Keeping God’s two great commandments…loving Him and loving our neighbor is our passion and great desire.
Adult Bible Studies, a Teen Study, and Children’s Sunday School are offered each Sunday morning at 9:00am prior to our morning Worship Service. Also, there is a Nursery beginning at 9:00am and a Children’s Church during our Worship Service.
Our Pastor

Pastor Joe Laing
Pastor Joe has a passion for carefully unpacking the truths of Scripture. If you come to Bethel, you will find preaching/teaching line by line through each book of the Bible. He has served at Bethel Bible Church since August of 2008. Pastor Joe and his wife Tammy have two children, Hannah and Joseph. “When God brought us to Bethel, we were thrilled to find a like-minded body of believers…a body that desires to practice body life, disciple others, and reach those who do not yet know Christ."
Our Emphases
At Bethel, we have always emphasized the Bible teaching. From our beginning in Jefferson in 1956, we have always sought to keep God’s Word central in each of our ministries. On any given Sunday, we study through various books verse-by-verse, making practical application to our daily lives.
Also, we have always sought to emphasize body life. We enjoy being the “body.” We love to be with one another, to pray for each other, to help one another, to show our Savior’s love to each other. When one of us hurts, then we all hurt. When one of us rejoices, then we all rejoice. Though imperfect, we strive to demonstrate that we are Christians by our love.
Our Beliefs
We believe...the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God (II Tim. 3:15-16, II Pet. 1:21).
We believe...there is one God, eternally existent in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:1, Mt. 28:19, Jn. 10:30).
We believe...in the deity of Christ (Jn. 10:33), His virgin birth (Isa. 7:14, Mt. 1:23), His sinless life (Heb. 4:15, Heb. 7:26), His miracles (Jn. 2:11), His vicarious and atoning death (I Co. 15:3, Eph. 1:7, Heb. 2:9), His resurrection (Jn. 11:25, I Co. 15:4), His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mk. 16:19), and His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11).
We believe...in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature; that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ; that only by God’s grace and through faith are we saved; that our salvation is eternally secure (Jn. 3:16; 5:24, Rom. 3:24; 5:8-9, Eph. 2:8-10, Titus 3:5, Phil. 1:6).
We believe...in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation (Jn. 5:28-29).
We believe...in that “blessed hope,” the personal, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (I Thess. 4:16-18).
We believe...in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Ro. 8:9, I Co. 12:12-13; Gal. 3:26-28).
We believe...in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who indwells every believer in Christ at the moment of salvation, and by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Ro. 8:13-14, I Co. 3:16).
We believe...that Christians should live a holy life for the glory of God and the well being of others (I Pet. 1:14-16, Eph. 1:4, Eph. 5:3).
We believe...that all who are in Christ face daily opposition on three continuously interacting fronts: the flesh, the world system, and the demonic (I Pet. 5:8, I Jn. 2:15-16, Gal. 5:17).
We believe...in the Church, the Body of Christ, whose mission it is to make disciples, which involves evangelizing the lost, growing, and equipping the believer (Mt. 28:19-20, Acts 1:8).
We believe...that the ordinances of the Church, given by our Lord, are Baptism (by immersion following conversion) and the Lord’s Table (communion) (Acts 8:36-39, I Co. 11:23-32).
